Bio

Born and raised in West Texas, Matt has carved out a unique role in the music and theater worlds in NYC and around the world.  From singing Billy Idol songs on a coffee table in Scooby-Doo underwear, to fronting rock and punk bands in school, to working for several years as an actor, to writing his own music and now being fortunate enough to lend his talents to others' songs and shows, Matt has always sought to find creative ways to incorporate both music and theater into his professional world.

Matt has spent half his life predominantly in theater, though it was fifteen years ago that he fully reverted back to his roots as a musician. His experience with voice and his time on the "other side of the table," coupled with years of playing, enable him to work comfortably in a variety of roles on a variety of projects at any stage of development. He has held chairs on six Broadway shows (four as Associate Music Director, conducted on all six) in addition to a broad range of experience in NYC and around the country as a music director, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist.

In addition to his production and developmental work, Matt has served as long-time music director and collaborator with Broadway star Caissie Levy. His concert and recording experience also includes work with Sutton Foster, Jessica Vosk, Kelli O'Hara, Natalie Weiss, Rachel Potter, Andrew Kober, and a host of other incredible performers. Other projects and collaborations have included work with Clint Black, Jason Robert Brown, Adam Guettel, and many others.

Matt lives in New Jersey with his wife Kymberly, their beautiful daughter Madeline, and their cats Brutus and Dexter.
