Bio & News
Born and raised in West Texas, Matt has carved out a unique role in the music and theater worlds in NYC and around the world. From singing Billy Idol songs on a coffee table in Scooby-Doo underwear, to fronting rock and punk bands in school, to working for several years as an actor, to writing his own music and now being fortunate enough to lend his talents to others, Matt has always sought to find creative ways to incorporate both music and theater into his professional life.
Matt has spent half his life predominantly in theater, though it was twelve years ago that he reverted back to his roots as a musician. His experience with voice and his time on the "other side of the table," coupled with years of playing, enable him to work comfortably in a variety of roles on a variety of projects at any stage of development.
In addition to his work for productions, Matt is the music director for Broadway star Caissie Levy and has served in that capacity for Natalie Weiss, Rachel Potter, Andrew Kober, and a host of other performers. Other projects and collaborations have included work with Sutton Foster, Jason Robert Brown, Adam Guettel, and many others.
Matt lives in New Jersey with his wife Kymberly, their beautiful daughter Madeline, and their cats Brutus and Dexter.
